first month in MPEU: finished OD (like phew!) and settling into EPO, getting into section 3 which seems to be quite a nice section with very friendly people haha. so far so good, hope nothing goes wrong!

but due to the shift system, im on duty on national day, MP Command Anniversary, Christmas and New Year's Eve?! i foresee some leaves burnt for some of those days hahaha.

15 more months grahh still long long way to go :(

ohwells. 2011 hasnt been a very good year for me.

setbacks after setbacks, first A levels, and now NS posting T.T

no command school, the only thing i can comfort myself is that at least i din go back to infantry haha. ohwells, there's definitely something for us to learn in every vocation, so yeah i'll treasure the upcoming 20months to learn as much as i can luh.

sidenote, ntu accountancy settled. perhaps thats the only positive i can get now?

wow its been around a month since i last posted. largely due to my laziness luh hahah.

just finished BMT a few days ago and yeah, POP LOH! :D the last few weeks of BMT have been pretty relaxed and manageable as compared to the first few imo, because most of the high-key events were completed already luh. like what sir said, "chiong-sua first and slack later" haha. basically its just sit-test, GP rehearsals, IOC and BCCT. last week is definitely the slackest period in BMT luh, after 3 days of rehearsals we just lepak in bunk for the remaining days, talk cock sing song haha :D

24km is definitely a memorable experience for everyone luh. setting off from ferry terminal, walking the super long straight road near changi airport (seriously how long is the road ah, it seems endless at that point of time :x), walking the whole east coast park from area H to area A, singing songs as one at the top of our voices, pain all over the body especially from the feet, all these are definitely memories that i'll never forget hahah. i can still remember the feeling when we first saw the singapore flyer, and we thought we're reaching hahah, in the end its just a scam =.=

POP can be described with one word: shuang. hahah doing the parade in the morning is much less tiring than the rehearsals which are in the afternoon -.- enjoyed the whole process, especially the throwing of the cap hahah. however it does give me mixed feelings luh. although it signals the end of BMT (which means no more tekong!) life and time to proceed on to the next stage of army life, it also means that all of us are parting our own ways and its difficult for all of us to come together as one platoon, or even one company once again.

platoon 2 is definitely the best platoon in kestrel hahah (quoted from PC), and my section mates are the best companions i could get luh. so yeah, a big thanks for everyone who helped me in any way throughout the 9weeks, and all the best guys (:

whee okay so this week is block leave for us while we wait for our posting results this friday. and i just realise that the block leave is taken from our annual leave =.= sian to the max. and the best thing is i fell sick at this point of time T.T

hahah i just recalled some of the famous phrases that our sergeants always say to us throughout BMT,

woohoo half of BMT life is over!

the 5D4N field camp is certainly something that i will never forget. the 8km route march at the start of the camp, the times when we saw shadows that resemble wild boars, when we have to guard our rifles like they're our most treasured gift ever, even when we sleep. the times when we have to do drills of attack and withdrawal (which is quite fun, provided that you dun screw up) and the artillery attacks, the times when we have to wake up every 1hr to do guard duty. the times when we have to dim our torchlights so as to observe light discipline at night, making us hard to find stuffs at night. the constant tekan-ing, talk cock chit chat session on the last night, as well as waking up in the middle of night as it's frigging cold. of course, not forgetting the digging of our own shellscrape that has no doubt brought much satisfication at the end of the day. it is definitely hard and torturous, but at last we managed to pull through it :D

really have to thank my family for writing in the encouragement letter. had mixed feelings when i opened the letter at night and reading each and every word that they wrote. now i really treasure the times that i have with them (Y)

when you're in school, you miss your home. when you're in army coy line, you miss school. when you're at field camp, you miss army coy line. how true.

A levels result release today. to be frank, i was rather disappointed with my results, as i din expect myself to screw up that badly in that frigging subject. but still, whats done cant be undone and there's no choice but to look ahead. at least i can still apply into the courses that i wanted (i hope)

well haven update for quite some time le heh. its just cos there's nothing much to blog about luh. life's really pretty sian nowadays.

blocks was screwed ttm. hai. but at least i see some improvement? haha. ohwells and i just remember its just 7 more weeks to prelims wth. which means now have to study for it liao. and after prelims a few more weeks and it will be A's. wow. so now its just pure studying all the way heh.

life sucks ttm now man. i always tot last year is the worse i could get after all the work done through pw. but now its at least 10 times worse. with all the stress, peer pressure (?) and all kinds of stuff. sigh.

awards presentation day yesterday. was rather glad about the prize :) i really have to thank everyone for helping me out throughout the years luh, including friends and of course my family. if not i would never be who i am today. im very certain about this.

things aren't going very well these few days. of course blocks is being the main culprit here. sigh. today's math paper wasnt really good too. and the other subjects are also kinda screwed. ohwells.

last paper next tuesday, totally no mood to study anymore. hope i can gain back the studying mood tomorrow loh. had a break today and it feels great. chose to play the piano once again and its really enjoyable. but sadly its only for a day. wouldnt life be much greater if we can choose to do anything we want?

haih life hasnt been great these few days. total failure in terms of mugging. all thanks to world cup luh. sigh. but its really too hard to resist! im sure alot of ppl will agree with me lah haha :)

okay im starting to feel emo again.

its just been a few days, and im already starting to miss everything that i had in tabletennis. the coaches, the usual trainings, the usual crap that we talked and enjoyed it alot, even the physical trainings. sighs. still cant really aceept the fact that all these can only remain as wonderful memories for me from now on.

shall officially start mugging tomorrow. first tuition lesson starts tomorrow morning ohwells. super looking forward to the sea junior dinner at night! i demand more outings! haha :D

well, sad to say, its time to start my mugging life. bye tabletennis, and hope we'll reunite again in december.

everything's over.

the last SEA Junior in my life. and most possibly the last time im going to represent singapore. everything has ended.

im really having mixed feelings right now. maybe like what syl said its just the post-competition syndrom that's bothering me. but still, having to part with all my friends, and of course my U18 tabletennis career, it is going to take some time for me to get over all these.

but well, at least im proud to say that for the last SEA Junior of my life, we managed to hand up one of the best results that we had in history. 6 golds, 2 silvers, 7 bronzes. its really a remarkable result, and to achieve this, nobody knew the hard work that all of us had put in over the past year, especially the past few weeks, more than us. it really isnt easy at all.

the last night of the trip is the most memorable one of all. firstly, we performed great on the stage for the team performance (at least that's what i think), and secondly, all of us had lots of fun during the dinner and the post-dinner celebration. haha i drank some beer and my whole body turned red haha. played some games as usual, and the feeling of getting abit drunk is awesome haha :D

and of course not forgetting the coaches who broke down on the last night. its really an emotional night when i really wished i could just release everything in my mind too. the coaches really played a big big role to our success, and no one, not even us, can understand the pressure and stress that the coaches have been facing throughout the year. except themselves. really want to say a big thank you to the coaches for having so much faith in me even in my low times, accompanying me throughout the bad times and sharing the joy with me when it comes to successes. without all of you, all my achievements wun be possible.

and of course, not forgetting sea junior team 2007 to team 2010. all of you have been really awesome, and i really have lots of great memories from all the trips that we went together. i will never never forget anyone of you and i want more team outings!!

and now, the only thing i can do is to sit back and reminisce all the good memories that i had. the first time i stepped up my SEA junior journey in 2007, when i really performed way beyond everyone's expectations and claimed the single and doubles gold. the bronze that we got for boys doubles in asian junior last year, beating japan in quarters which was once seem to be so impossible. the SEA Games gold medal last year which was really a hard-earned one, and finally the last international comp of my life, in which we created history.

i feel that i've done a pretty good job throughout the years, and i have no regrets for choosing this path, the fun and enjoyable times i had with my team, the times when we endured everything together as a team, and the times when we enjoyed the successes that we had as a team.

before i get really emo and break down, i just wanna say that its been a real honour to represent singapore. ITS REALLY BEEN A GREAT HONOUR.

well, we are off to the battlefield once again. this time, despite the inclusion of several new members, the final goal remains unchanged. our overall results was indeed disappointing last year, and this year we are determined to win back what we have lost.

im feeling super optimistic and confident for everything now, which i dun really know why. perhaps its good luh, to have self-confidence and belief in yourself before everything starts.

we've undergone all the possible challenges and obstacles and im proud to say that we've managed to overcome almost all (if not all) of them. all the hardcore trainings, pts, scoldings from coaches, are all for us to prepare for the comp ahead.

its just one week, and everything will come to an end. still cant believe that its gonna be my last year. yeah and since its my last year, im really going to give in my all. the enthusiasm, the energy, the fighting will, everything.

我已经做足困难准备了.

now its the time for all of us perform, and i hope all of us can do a good job. dun forget, we have a huge responsibility on our shoulders. lets give it a great shot. and for me, my last shot.

well really long time no update le. just came back from hebei and i think its quite a fruitful and meaningful trip luh. like what coach said, we're not there to improve our skills by a few levels, we're just going there to find back our form and try to perform our best for the comp this week. and yeah i think i have kinda achieved that aim (: although my skills are definitely limited and still got lots of areas for improvement, im feeling confident now :)

singapore women's team are world champions now. wow that sounds quite impossible a few years ago but now it actually happened. like what they have said, the most important thing that you need to do during the game is to believe in yourself. which i think its really true. hmm that sort of motivate me to strive even harder for sea junior luh haha :D

ohwells. im definitely putting work aside now. face it, comp is just a few days from now. 1 more week and everything's over. so im just trying to end it with a big bang. its not going to be easy luh, especially the long-awaited team gold. hope everything will turn out fine luh :)

sometimes im really wondering, whether i've made the right choice in choosing what im doing now. A LEVELS sounds like zomgz its so important (yeah everyone knows it) and yet 6 months from it im still focusing on other stuffs. but yeah at least now, at this moment of time, im not regretting of what i've chosen. i dun really care about what "one-down" that i'll have when im playing for the country while all my peers are busying mugging for blocks and stuff. at least im enjoying what im doing now, and to me that's the most important thing luh.

ohwells. but still, i still have to chiong after sea junior loh. face the reality man. sighs.

as long as you have the will, the sky's your limit.

heh i realise i never update for super long le. have been really busy with school work and trainings recently luh.

will be leaving for hebei on saturday night for sea junior centralised training trip. have to go for 2 weeks luh.. have to attend all the make-up lessons this week cos i'll miss 2 weeks of school. sighs. i can only try my best to catch up as much as i can during this period of time loh. shall chiong after everything's over (i.e. 8th june!) :D

well there's super lots of work for me to do. and because its too much i have no idea where to start from :( and there's lunwen which is zzz.

NATIONALS ARE OVER.

the result is indeed not what we all wanted, but nevertheless i was really really proud of all of you, for everything that you've put in for the team. throughout the match, we had displayed the burning fighting spirit and like what guowei had said, the result is not the most important part of the game. the process is.

never in my life had i feel so proud of all of you even though we lost. despite the loss, i've absolutely nothing to regret of. im sure everyone has put in their best at that moment of time. it is definitely the match of our lives, and despite not being able to produce the ideal result, the process is indeed unforgettable and is definitely something for us to be proud of :)

realy want to thank each and everyone of you for making my 6 years in hctt such a remarkable and memorable one. throughout the years, we've indeed proved ourselves to be capable of getting anything that we wanted. it's time for all of us to let go of tabletennis, and step up to the next challenge in our lives. study hard for A levels people, and let the true team spirit of hctt stay on forever and ever and ever :)

im so going to miss the team from now on. hope we can meet up for outings occasionally and treat them as relaxation from the constant mugging for A levels! :D

now that nationals is over, sea junior will be the last comp that i'll be participating definitely, and yeah after that it will be full stretch preparation for A levels. its definitely not the time to slow down the pace, instead, its time to step up to the challenge!

ohwells life's been pretty busy and fulfilling these few days. and i think it will continue for a period of time luh. trainings will continue all the way till early june i think due to sea junior, and after that it will be full-force studying haha :) so well, im trying to enjoy life as much as i can now :)

PW result is out yesterday. was really happy with my result luh, but i really want to urge everyone to continue to work hard for the upcoming A lvls :) for those that din do as well, dun be disheartened, this is just a small minor setback that wun affect the overall A lvl result so yeah, cheer up and continue working hard :) im sure all of us can do it :)

finally decided to play for sea junior selections tomorrow. i will definitely give my best shot out there tomorrow, yeah so hope everything will be fine :)

and it will really be a hard decision to make regarding whether i should play sea junior ornot (should i manage to get in tomorrow). coach has mentioned that we'll be going for centralised trng trip overseas during may so i will definitely have to miss school, which is definitely not the ideal case since im like freaking J2 now. J2 life seriously sucks man zzz.

learn from your mistakes, and change for the better. sometimes i really regretted what i have done, in many aspects of life. but the fact is that i cant do anything to salvage it anymore. the only thing that i can do is to learn from the mistakes that i've committed and remind myself not to do it again. well i guess thats the process of growing up..

hmm these few days have been pretty good i think :) grand finale ended with a doubles champ, team 3rd and mix doubles quarters. was really pleased with the results luh haha especially when my form isnt very good recently. there's still lots of areas of improvement luh hope i'll improve over the holidays haha :D

well 1 week has passed and up till now school's been alright i guess. the lectures and tutorials are fine loh haha. but the same feeling is still there luh. feeling tired almost everyday and have been trying very hard to listen attentively in lectures. haha :D
